Mati airport in Davao Oriental set for major rehabilitation
DAVAO CITY, Philippines — The Mati Airport in Davao Oriental is set for a major rehabilitation project this year, officials said.
Mayor Michelle Rabat said Friday that the project will boost the local economy and tourism.
“The upgraded airport will provide a seamless travel experience and position Mati City as a gateway to economic growth and tourism in Mindanao,” she said in an interview.
The Department of Transportation (DOTr), in collaboration with local governments, is spearheading the project in the city.
