MANILA, Philippines — The northeast monsoon or amihan will bring cloudy and rainy weather in Metro Manila and certain parts of Luzon on Sunday evening, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
In its 4 p.m. weather bulletin, state weather specialist Veronica Torres said the northeast monsoon is expected to affect Cagayan Valley, Aurora, and Quezon.

She added that Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the same weather system.
Meanwhile, the easterlies are forecast to influence weather conditions in three Mindanao areas.
(Meanwhile, the easterlies, or warm winds from the Pacific Ocean, will bring cloudy skies, scattered rain showers, thunderstorms, and lightning to Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Dinagat Islands.)

Torres also advised residents in these areas, especially those who have experienced heavy rains in recent days, to remain cautious of possible flooding or landslides.

Torres further noted that no low-pressure area is currently being monitored inside or near the Philippine area of responsibility.
