MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) on Tuesday approved the release of over P30 billion for the first quarter pension of military and uniformed personnel (MUP).
Budget Secretary Amenah said the release of the P30.409 billion was approved after meeting requirements.
“For many MUP retirees and their families, pensions are a lifeline that ensure their daily needs are met, katulad po ng pambili ng gamot o pagkain,” Pangandaman said in a statement.
The DBM noted that the pension budget is chargeable against the Pension and Gratuity Fund under Republic Act No. 12116, or the 2025 General Appropriations Act.
“The releases are based on the actual pension payroll submitted by the above-mentioned MUP agencies as of December 31, 2024,” DBM added.
It also said that a total of P16.752 billion was released to the Armed Forces of the Philippines – General Headquarters-Proper and the Philippine Veterans Office under the Department of National Defense.
