P500,000 bounty up for info on killers of Maguindanao Norte trader
COTABATO CITY — The family of slain businessman Edwin Liha Valdez has offered a P500,000 reward to anyone who can provide information leading to the arrest of the suspects who shot him on Jan. 6.
The family, who promised confidentiality, posted the information on Facebook saying it would provide the reward to “anyone who can provide valuable information that can help identify the persons involved in the murder.”
Valdez, 42, a philanthropist, was driving his Honda CRF 150 motorbike on his way to Cotabato City when ambushed by unidentified persons along the national highway in Barangay Kibleg, Upi, Maguindanao del Norte at about 5 p.m. on Jan. 6.
He came from Nuro Upi, Maguindanao del Sur.
His family told the police that he had no known enemies.
Police found out that the victim’s sling bag, which contained an undetermined amount of cash, was missing, leading them to believe that robbery could be a possible motive for the killing.
His family urged anyone who had any information to get in touch with the municipal police station of Upi, Maguindanao del Norte.
