LUCENA CITY — Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) operatives on Wednesday dismantled an alleged drug den and arrested three suspects in Lucena City, Quezon.
A report posted by PDEA Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) on its Facebook page on Thursday morning said that at 4:10 p.m. the operatives conducted a buy-bust operation in Barangay Dalahican.
The operatives nabbed three male suspects, who were not identified in the report, and seized 10 grams of shabu (crystal meth) worth P68,000 and assorted drug-sniffing paraphernalia.
The report described the place as a den that caters to drug users in the coastal village.
The report tagged the three suspects as HVIs or high-value individuals in the local drug trade. HVI refers to financiers, traffickers, manufacturers, and importers of illegal drugs or leaders/members of drug groups.
The three suspects were detained, and cases of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against them.
Meanwhile, Lucena City police chief Lieutenant Colonel Dennis de Guzman said in a report Thursday that policemen nabbed four suspects in an anti-illegal gambling operation in Barangay Market View at 12:21 p.m. on Wednesday.
Two of the suspects were identified as a certain “Mark,” an identified HVI and alleged leader of a local drug group, and his associate, “Nonot.”
The police seized nine plastic sachets of shabu with a street value of P187,680 and P288 worth of dried marijuana leaves from the duo.
The raiders also nabbed “Aeron” and “Ebok” for illegal gambling.
Ebok, a minor, was turned over to the local Social Welfare and Development Office for disposition.
The three other suspects were detained and are facing the corresponding criminal charges.
