Law enforcers save child from hostage taker in Taytay, Rizal

MANILA, Philippines — Law enforcers rescued a child from the hands of a man in a tension-filled hostage situation that took place in Taytay, Rizal on Saturday evening.
According to Taytay Mayor Allan de Leon, the hostage taker is now in the custody of the Philippine National Police.
“Under the leadership of our Provincial Director Philip Maragun, Taytay Police Chief Marlo Solero, and the task force multiplier, the hostage situation was successfully resolved, and the child was rescued safely,” De Leon said in Filipino in a Facebook post.
The mayor also said that both lines of the C6 Road are now open to the public. In an earlier post, De Leon warned motorists that heavy traffic was expected along C6-Lakeview going to Taguig due to the incident.
