MANILA, Philippines — The Palace clarified that January 27, 2025, is not a holiday observed nationwide but a holiday only in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARRM) and other Muslim areas defined in the Muslim Code.

Its clarification followed an erroneous social media post that created confusion for the public.

“It is not a national holiday,” Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin said in a statement Sunday.
