Marcos appoints ex-DOTr exec as PCO undersecretary

MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has appointed Jorjette Barrenechea Aquino as the new undersecretary of the Presidential Communications Office (PCO).
She will replace Cherbett Karen Maralit in the position based on the appointment letter dated January 23, 2025.
Aquino served as assistant secretary for rails at the Department of Transportation.
She holds a BS Math major in Actuarial Science and Statistics from De La Salle University and a Master of Public Administration from the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila.
Aquino will focus on the rationalization plan and digitalization of the People’s Television Network under the Japan International Cooperation Agency’s assistance.
