Baguio temperature drops to 11.8ºC on Jan. 28

MANILA, Philippines — Temperatures are dropping in some parts of the country due to the northeast monsoon, or “amihan,” with Baguio City recording its lowest temperature so far this year at 11.8 degrees Celsius on Tuesday.

According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), this was the lowest temperature registered so far in 2025, followed by Itbayat, Batanes, at 15.6ºC; Calayan, Cagayan, at 18.4ºC; and Tanay, Rizal, at 18.4ºC.

Next were Sinait, Ilocos Sur, at 18.7ºC; Abucay, Bataan, at 18.8ºC; Casiguran, Aurora, at 19.4ºC; Malaybalay, Bukidnon, at 19.5ºC; Iba, Zambales, at 19.7ºC; and Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, at 20.2ºC.
