SWS trust ratings for Marcos, Duterte continue to drop

The trust enjoyed by President Marcos and Vice President Sara Duterte has continued to decline in recent months, according to the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey.

Commissioned and released by Stratbase Group on Monday, the SWS survey showed that the country鈥檚 two highest government officials started the year on 鈥渆qual footing鈥 with Marcos scoring a 50 percent 鈥渕uch trust鈥 rating while Duterte scored a 49 percent 鈥渕uch trust鈥 rating.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has appointed Dr. Edwin Mercado as the new president and chief executive officer (CEO) of the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth).

In a press release on Tuesday, the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) said Mercado took an oath before Marcos in simple rites in Malaca帽ang earlier that day.

3 Chinese vessels monitored in PH waters 鈥 Westmincom

The Western Mindanao Command (Westmincom) is tracking the movement of three Chinese People鈥檚 Liberation Army (PLA) Navy vessels monitored to have entered the Philippine waters on Sunday, February 2.

Major Orlando Ayllon, Westmincom information officer said the three PLA vessels that included one Renhai Class Cruiser Guided Missile, one Jiangkai Class Frigate II and one Type 903 Fuchi Class Replenishment Oiler were first monitored in the vicinity of West Philippine Sea (WPS) on Sunday, navigating through Mindoro Strait towards Sulu Sea.
