LUCENA CITY — Anti-illegal drug operatives in Rizal province arrested nine suspected drug traffickers in buy-bust operations on Monday and Tuesday (Feb. 3 and 4), and seized more than P688,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) and an illegal firearm.

The Police Region 4A reported that anti-narcotics agents in Binangonan town arrested “Grace” and “Andrea” at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday after they sold P1,000 worth of shabu to an undercover police officer in Barangay Calumpang.

The operatives seized from the suspects seven sealed plastic sachets containing shabu weighing 50.37 grams worth P342,516.

Earlier, the same police team also busted “Liza” in a sting operation in Barangay Pantok around 11:45 p.m. on Monday.

The operatives caught the suspect with five sachets containing meth weighing 30.69 grams valued at P208,692.

Authorities also seized three mobile phones, which will be subjected to digital forensic examination if they have records of drug transactions.

The three suspects are classified as high-value individuals (HVI) in the illegal drug trade. HVI refers to financiers, traffickers, manufacturers, and importers of illegal drugs or leaders/members of drug groups.

In San Mateo town, police officers nabbed drug pusher “Jimmy” and his five associates in Barangay Silangan at 10:12 p.m. on Monday.

The group yielded 15 plastic sachets of shabu worth P137,360.

The cops also confiscated from Jimmy, tagged as an HVI, an undocumented .45 caliber pistol with five bullets.

All suspects are under police custody and will face complaints for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Jimmy will also face another case for illegal possession of a firearm and violation of the election gun ban.
