PNP DEG: P50-M drugs seized in January 2025

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group (PNP DEG) confiscated illegal drugs worth a total of P50,354,088 in January 2025, it announced on Wednesday.

Data from the PNP DEG showed it seized 45,800 pieces of fully grown marijuana plants, 6,040.66 grams of shabu (crystal meth), 530 grams of dried marijuana leaves, 150 pieces of marijuana seedlings, and 40 milliliters of marijuana oil in January.

The police’s anti-drug unit also touted conducting 68 operations during the same period: 40 buy-bust operations, 22 services of arrest warrants, three search warrant operations, two marijuana eradication operations, and one interdiction operation.

According to the PNP DEG, the operations led to the arrest of 87 individuals.

“Through coordinated efforts, the operation[s] yielded remarkable results in dismantling drug syndicates and disrupting the flow of illegal drug substances in various regions,” PNP DEG said in a statement.
