MANILA, Philippines – As part of its massive effort to reach more customers and improve service, Manila Water completes key pipelaying and pipe replacement projects in the East Zone of Metro Manila and parts of Rizal Province.
These network fortification and expansion projects aim to boost the conveyance capacity of treated water to the company’s 7.7 million customer base and ensure water reliability across its concession area.
In Quezon City, the company replaced old pipes at DMA Rosalia with 409 linear meters of 75-millimeter (mm) to 100-mm newer and more resilient ones to further improve water service to Barangay Tandang Sora.
The company also replaced the Rosalia Village residents’ water meters and installed appurtenances to energize the network and stabilize its supply. In Barangay Pasong Tamo, Manila Water has also completed the construction of water pipes along Diamond Street, significantly improving water service to 2,500 households.

The water company has also completed the reinforcement of the 100-linear-meter water line along Emerald Avenue in Pasig City. This upgraded infrastructure involved installing new and durable 315-mm high-density polyethylene pipes, which enhance the supply links for the residents in Barangay Ugong, Barangay San Antonio, and the adjacent business and industrial centers.
Over 1,000 Barangay Tumana residents in Marikina City are now enjoying a steady supply of clean and potable water since the completion of the 100-linear-meter project along Admiral-Ampalaya Street in the first quarter of 2024. This network improvement project in Tumana is a key component of the company’s individualization project in the area serving more than 1,269 households.
The East Zone concessionaire has also successfully expanded its reach along the Pasong Tamo Extension in Taguig City with its 4-million-liter-per-day (MLD) Mainline Extension Project at the Bonifacio Naval Station.
Up east in Antipolo City, Manila Water has also gained considerable ground in bringing its top-quality water service to customers. With the completion of the mainline extension pipelaying projects in Sitios Painuman, Kalakad, Kulasisi, and Piedra Blanca Subdivision, the company is now able to bring 24/7 water supply to 2,200 households in Barangays Inarawan and San Luis. Furthermore, the company successfully replaced 500 linear meters of pipeline along Upper F. Oldan Street and Sumulong Highway. This project now benefits over 250 households in Barangay Mayamot.
“Every meter laid means more houses receive our top-quality service. Water is essential for safeguarding family health and a crucial part of a community’s economic growth. That is why Manila Water is constantly improving and expanding its services to our customers,” Manila Water Communication Affairs Group Director Jeric Sevilla said.
By the end of December 2024, Manila Water has been managing and maintaining over 5,555 kilometers of pipelines across its concession area.
