TACLOBAN CITY – Non-stop rains brought by the shear line have caused flooding in several areas in the Samar provinces, leading to the suspension of classes on Friday, Feb. 7.
Flooding was reported in Matuguinao, Samar; Dolores and Jipapad in Eastern Samar; and Catubig and Las Navas in Northern Samar.
No evacuees were reported in these affected areas.
The Office of Civil Defense in Eastern Visayas has urged residents in flooded areas to take necessary precautions, warning that the persistent heavy rains may trigger further flooding and landslides.
“The public and disaster risk reduction and management offices concerned are advised to take all necessary measures to protect life and property,” the agency said in its advisory.
