MANILA, Philippines — Thirty-two percent of adult Filipinos said their was better than twelve months before, while 25 percent said it got worse, according to the Stratbase – 2025 Pre-Election Survey held from Jan. 17-20.
A “net gainers” score of +7 was computed from the percentage of those whose life have improved (gainers) and the percentage of those whose life got worse (losers).
Meanwhile, 43 percent said their quality of life remained unchanged.
The January 2025 Net Gainers score of +7 was classified as high, but was 11 points below the very high +18 in December 2019 or before the COVID-19 pandemic.
Nevertheless, this is 6 points below the “very high” +13 in December 2024 and September 2024, and similar to the high +5 in March 2024 and December 2023
SWS noted that the Net Gainers score was generally negative until 2015 when it rose to positive numbers until the sharp decline beginning with the COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns.
“It has since trended back upwards but has not fully recovered to pre-pandemic levels,” they noted.
This quality of life assessment has been fielded 156 times since April 1983.
The Stratbase-SWS January 2025 Pre-Election Survey was conducted using face-to-face interviews of 1,800 registered voters.
