MANILA, Philippines 鈥� Twelve fishermen from a fishing boat in distress were rescued in Palawan on Thursday by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).
PCG, in its Saturday report, said the fishing boat, FB BART-2, 鈥渆xperienced mechanical failure and was drifted in challenging sea conditions鈥� on Thursday.

鈥淒espite rough sea conditions, BRP Melchora Aquino (MRRV 9702), commanded by Lieutenant Commander Noel Alvarez PCG, was able to locate FB BART-2 and its crew within a few hours of its deployment,鈥� PCG said in a post.
PCG added that the crew members, found safe and in stable condition, were given medical evaluations and necessary supplies.
Their fishing vessel was also towed.
