MANILA, Philippines 鈥 Twelve fishermen from a fishing boat in distress were rescued in Palawan on Thursday by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).
PCG, in its Saturday report, said the fishing boat, FB BART-2, 鈥渆xperienced mechanical failure and was drifted in challenging sea conditions鈥 on Thursday.

鈥淒espite rough sea conditions, BRP Melchora Aquino (MRRV 9702), commanded by Lieutenant Commander Noel Alvarez PCG, was able to locate FB BART-2 and its crew within a few hours of its deployment,鈥 PCG said in a post.
PCG added that the crew members, found safe and in stable condition, were given medical evaluations and necessary supplies.
Their fishing vessel was also towed.
