Camille Villar unveils 2nd ‘Kabataan Center’, bats for conducive learning spaces

A conducive study space will motivate the youth to enjoy the learning process, Camille Villar said on Monday as she inaugurated a "Kabataan Center" in Barangay Pulang Lupa Dos in Las Piñas City.

MANILA, Philippines – A conducive study space will motivate the youth to enjoy the learning process, Camille Villar said on Monday as she inaugurated a “Kabataan Center” in Barangay Pulang Lupa Dos in Las Piñas City.

“Bilang tayong mga kabataan ang BAGONG BOSES sa BAGONG BUKAS, dapat tayo ay magsumikap at paghusayan natin ang pag-aaral,” Villar said as she underscored the importance of having an environment that would make studying an extraordinary experience.

“Ayon sa mga pag-aaral, malaki ang naitutulong ng isang conducive learning environment, na mas nakakapag-motivate pa sa ating mga kabataan,” she said.

The air-conditioned Kabataan Center, which will double as a digital library, or e-library, is equipped with computers, printers, a photocopy machine for research and printing, and a free Wi-Fi connection that allows students access to digital resources for learning.

It is provided with books, an encyclopedia set, and other digital learning resources, and has a meeting space where children can gather and study together.

The 80-square meter Kabataan Center is located at the ground floor of the Camella 3D multipurpose building in Barangay Pulang Lupa Dos.

“This is the change that we represent, that through a new brand of leadership — we can innovate programs and projects that is attuned to the current needs of our students and learners,” Villar said, adding the e-library will help students when doing their school works.

“Sa bawat proyekto, research, school work at performance task na matatapos nyo dito ay malaking hakbang tungo sa pag-kamit ng inyong mga pangarap, ng mas magandang buhay para sa inyong sarili at pamilya,” she said.

The inauguration of the Kabataan Center was also attended by Barangay chairperson Julie Quines and Kagawads Erwin Manalili, Vilma de Castro, Jean Basa, Vilma Miranda, Rose Aguilar, and Susan Borromeo; SK chairman Miko Manalili and SK Kagawads Ericka de Castro, Kaye Borres, Jaira Deiparine, Hilarrie Velasco and Zelo Santos, SK Secretary Rovic Catoy and SK Treasurer Francine Capistrano; and Camella 3D Homeowners Association president Mark Tristan Cruz.

The Center was turned over to SK chairman Manalili and Camella 3D Homeowners Association president Cruz.

The Pulang Lupa Dos e-library is the second Kabataan Center put up by Villar. The first was in Barangay Pula Lupa Uno.

Villar plans to replicate the project and build more Kabataan Centers across the country in pursuit of her advocacy to promote and provide equal education opportunities to the youth.

Villar has filed at the House of Representatives House Bill No. 9572, or the proposed E-books for the Barangay Program Act, which includes a digital library platform that will provide a secure and organized database of digital learning resources.

“I hope that through Kabataan Centers, we can help build the hopes and dreams of every youth here in our country,” she said.

“Makaka-asa kayo na patuloy ang inyong ate Camille na magta-trabaho para magbigay solusyon sa mga problema ng kabataan, ng kalusugan, hanap-buhay at trabaho, at kalikasan — isang bagong pananaw, bagong aksiyon, bagong diskarte para sa bagong bukas,” Villar said.
