4 drug suspects yield P2.8M shabu in Rizal, Cavite busts

LUCENA CITY — Shabu (crystal meth) worth P2.8 million was seized from three suspected drug traffickers in separate buy-bust operations on Monday, Feb. 10, in Rizal and Cavite provinces.

Anti-illegal drug operatives in Antipolo City, Rizal arrested “Kuya” around 11:40 p.m. after he sold P3,000 worth of shabu to a police agent in a transaction in Barangay Mambugan, the Region 4A police said in a report on Tuesday, Feb. 11.

The suspect was in alleged possession of 11 plastic sachets containing shabu weighing 70 grams worth P2,516,000.

The police also seized a mobile phone, which will be examined for records of drug transactions.

In Dasmariñas City, Cavite police arrested “Marilyn,” “Alunayer.” and “Jonas” at 9 p.m. in Barangay Sta. Lucia.

The suspects had seven sachets of meth weighing 43 worth P292,400.

The report tagged Kuya, Marilyn, and Alunayer as high-value individuals (HVI) in the illegal drug trade, while Jonas is listed as a street-level drug pusher. HVI refers to financiers, traffickers, manufacturers, and importers of illegal drugs or leaders/members of drug groups.

Rizal and Cavite police are investigating the source of the seized illegal drugs.

The suspects are in police custody and will face charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
