MANILA, Philippines — A low pressure area (LPA) was monitored outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) on Tuesday evening, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
Pagasa said that the LPA was observed at 8 p.m. It was last located 165 kilometers west of Pag-asa Island in Kalayaan, Palawan.

It added that the LPA “has a MEDIUM chance of development into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours.”

However, if an LPA develops into a tropical cyclone, it will be named “Aurora”.
