Magnitude 4.7 earthquake jolts Cagayan town
MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 4.7 earthquake struck a municipality in Cagayan on Wednesday morning, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
Phivolcs said the tremor was recorded at 7:18 a.m., with its epicenter located some six kilometers west of Santa Praxedes, Cagayan.
The earthquake was tectonic in origin, with a depth of 10 kilometers.
Phivolcs detected the following instrumental intensities in the following areas:
Instrumental Intensity II: City of Laoag, Ilocos Norte
Instrumental Intensity I: Sinait, Ilocos Sur
Phivolcs Science Research Analyst Lara Guianan previously told ºÚÁÏÉç that intensity refers to how strongly people in the affected areas feel an earthquake.

The agency said no aftershocks are expected from the quake.
However, it was noted that some damage was possible.
