Shabu, marijuana worth P1.6M; gun, van seized in Rizal, Quezon, Laguna

LUCENA CITY — Anti-illegal drugs operatives confiscated more than P1.6 million worth of shabu (crystal meth) and marijuana from five suspected drug traffickers arrested on Tuesday and Wednesday in buy-bust operations in Rizal, Quezon, and Laguna provinces.
The Police Regional Office 4A (PRO-4A) reported that the drug enforcement unit in Angono, Rizal, held alias “Mark Bryan” at 1:16 a.m. Wednesday after he sold shabu to an undercover cop in Barangay Bagumbayan.
The suspect was found in alleged possession of seven plastic sachets and a knot-tied plastic bag containing shabu weighing 130 grams with an estimated value of P884,000.
Anti-narcotics operatives in Los Baños in Laguna were conducting a buy-bust operation against two drug pushers in Barangay Batong Malake around 1:15 a.m. Wednesday, the PRO-4A said.
The two pushers sensed that they were dealing with undercover cops, so one of them pulled a caliber .38 revolver and shot the cops but missed his target.

Article continues after this advertisementRecovered from the van were 2 kilos and 250 grams of marijuana placed inside plastic bags and sachets worth P270,000 and the firearm with five bullets left behind by the suspects.
Meanwhile, Quezon police in another report said their drug enforcement unit nabbed “Romuel” and “Jerry” in a sting operation in Barangay Ibabang Dupay in Lucena City at 2:15 a.m. Wednesday.
The duo yielded five sachets of meth weighing 54 grams and worth P367,200.
Earlier, another team of operatives busted “Hagibis” and “JayR” inside a subdivision in Barangay Gulang-Gulang also in Lucena City at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
The suspects were caught with 23.13 grams of shabu worth P157,284.
The police also confiscated a motorcycle believed to have been used by the suspects in their illegal drug transactions.
The report tagged Mark Bryan, Hagibis, JayR, and Romuel as included in the police drug watch list as identified HVI or high-value individuals in the local drug trade.
HVI refers to financiers, traffickers, manufacturers, and importers of illegal drugs or leaders/members of drug groups.
The rest of the arrested suspects are classified as street-level drug pushers.
All suspects are under police custody and are facing complaints of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
