MANILA, Philippines 鈥 President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Thursday vowed to provide Ilonggos with jobs suited to their skills as well as affordable rice.

In his speech during the Trabaho Para sa Bagong Pilipinas job fair in Iloilo City, Marcos emphasized the importance of having a job that suits the applicant鈥檚 skills.

鈥淭here are employers, who are also big; they are also looking for 2,000 positions for our applicants. So I think there is good hope that those who are applying to us today will find jobs,鈥 he said.

鈥淎nd that also includes what is called 鈥榤atching.鈥 Because sometimes, the problem that job seekers face is that their skills are not suitable for the job they are applying for. That鈥檚 why we help them so that their so-called skill set matches their skills so that they can land the right job,鈥 he added.

Aside from the job expo, Kadiwa stores selling rice at P29 were set up.

鈥淜adiwa is also here so you can buy cheap goods. We have rice. How much is rice here? P20? P25? P29 per kilo. That鈥檚 the lowest,鈥 Marcos said.

鈥淎nd to be on the safe side, when you get your payout, you can do a little shopping here in our Kadiwa, and when you return home, you will have something to take home for your families and loved ones,鈥 he added.
