MANILA, Philippines — Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin on Thursday maintained that the Department of Justice (DOJ) has the “fullest autonomy” on the criminal complaints filed against Vice President Sara Duterte.
On Wednesday, National Bureau of Investigation Director Jaime Santiago said complaints for inciting sedition and grave threats were filed against Duterte, who was also impeached by the House of Representatives on February 5.

Bersamin, in an ambush interview in Pasay City, said the Palace is aware of the complaints filed but they would let the process proceed on its own.
“The Department of Justice will have the fullest autonomy; we cannot give directions as far as these matters go,” he said.
