According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), the LPA was plotted 370 kilometers northwest of Pag-asa Island in Kalayaan, Palawan, at 3 a.m.

“The low-pressure area that we monitor outside our area of responsibility has no effect on any parts of the country, and its low chance of developing into a tropical cyclone remains,” Pagasa weather specialist Grace Castañeda said in Filipino in the 5 a.m. weather forecast.

Castañeda also said the LPA would not enter the PAR.
