MANILA, Philippines — The low-pressure area (LPA) outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) has a low chance of developing into a tropical cyclone, the state weather bureau said on Friday.
According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), the LPA was plotted 370 kilometers northwest of Pag-asa Island in Kalayaan, Palawan, at 3 a.m.

“The low-pressure area that we monitor outside our area of responsibility has no effect on any parts of the country, and its low chance of developing into a tropical cyclone remains,” Pagasa weather specialist Grace Castañeda said in Filipino in the 5 a.m. weather forecast.
Castañeda also said the LPA would not enter the PAR.
“We are not monitoring any low-pressure area or tropical cyclone that can affect the country aside from this,” she added.
Meanwhile, Castañeda said the shear line and easterlies would continue to bring rains in the eastern portion of the country this weekend.

She also said the northeast monsoon, or amihan, would prevail again over Northern and Central Luzon next week, and its absence in any parts of the country would bring hot weather at noon on Friday.
