MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 4.2 earthquake struck waters off the municipality of Hermani in Eastern Samar on Saturday afternoon, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said on Sunday.
In a bulletin, Phivolcs said the tremor occurred at 4:55 p.m. Saturday, and was located some 33 kilometers (km) east of Hermani.
The state seismologist said it was tectonic in origin and with a depth of focus of 6 km.
Intensity II was reported in Hermani, Llorente, and Balangkayan, Eastern Samar.
Phivolcs said no aftershock or property damage is expected from the earthquake.

Phivolcs previously reported that Hermani, Eastern Samar was also jolted by a magnitude 5.5 earthquake at 9:18 a.m. on Saturday, February 15.
It had a depth of focus of 10 km and was tectonic in nature.
