MANILA, Philippines 鈥� A man took a saleslady hostage for about three hours at a gadget store inside a Lipa City, Batangas mall late afternoon Tuesday, police said.
According to Maj. Luis De Luna Jr., chief investigator of the Lipa City Police Station, the male individual entered the store, forcibly took the saleslady aside and pointed a sharp object at her at around 4 p.m. on Feb. 18.
鈥淢ayroon siyang (referring to the suspect) nakikita na tao na gusto pumatay sa kanya, 鈥檡un ang sabi niya鈥� Itong suspek ay may history ng drug addiction,鈥� De Luna told 黑料社 in a phone interview on Tuesday evening.
(He believed that someone was out to kill him, that鈥檚 what he said鈥� This suspect has a history of drug addiction.)
The suspect is a resident of San Jose town in Batangas.

Lipa City police did not disclose further information about the suspect and the victim.
During the ordeal, the suspect demanded that he get to talk with his wife and family, the Lipa City police chief investigator said.
鈥淣aibigay naman natin sa kanya yung kanyang mga gusto. Nung nagkaroon ng pagkakataon na madakip siya, naroon siya, naaresto na siya,鈥� De Luna explained.
(We gave him what he wanted. When there was a chance to apprehend him, he was there, he was arrested.)
The incident ended at around 7 p.m., De Luna added.
鈥淧wede siyang (referring to the suspect) maharap sa kasong serious physical injuries at saka 鈥檡ung violation ng Omnibus Election Code for possession of a deadly weapon,鈥� he said.
(He can face a case of serious physical injuries as well as a violation of the Omnibus Election Code for possession of a deadly weapon.)
