MANILA, Philippines 鈥斅燩resident Marcos has vowed to implement more programs for the benefit of the country鈥檚 aging population鈥攕tarting with the inaugural distribution of cash gifts to Filipino senior citizens under Republic Act No. 11982 or the Expanded Centenarians Act.

In a program at Malaca帽ang on Wednesday, he distributed cash gifts of P10,000 each to 11 Filipinos age 80, 85, 90, and 95 years old, and P100,000 each to three women who reached 100 years old.
In his speech, the President said the program was the start of more and better benefits for Filipino senior citizens, who helped build the nation in their prime. 鈥擩ulie M. Aurelio
