MANILA, Philippines — House of Representatives Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez on Saturday said that the holy month of Ramadan must serve as a reminder for the Filipinos to unite, emphasizing that it is a period that strengthens faith and brings communities together.
Romualdez called on the public to value the importance of this sacred month where it teaches generosity, perseverance, understanding, and unity.
“At a time when division threatens unity, let us choose to uplift one another, strengthen our communities, and promote peace—just as our Muslim brothers and sisters embody during this sacred month,” Romualdez said in a statement.
(In the spirit of unity and peace, may Ramadan serve as an opportunity for the country to unite. May this serve as a guide in giving importance to peace, justice, faith, and may we continue the quest for and more progressive and just society for all. )
