MANILA, Philippines 鈥� The easterlies will bring cloudy skies and scattered rains across the country on Monday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
鈥溾�榊ung easterlies po o 鈥榶ung mainit na hangin na nanggagaling sa karagatang Pasipiko ang umiiral at nakakaapekto sa buong bansa,鈥� Pagasa weather specialist Rhea Torres said in a morning weathercast.
(The easterlies, or warm winds from the Pacific Ocean, are prevailing and affecting the entire country.)
Torres explained that cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms are expected in the Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Caraga, and Davao Oriental due to the easterlies.
鈥淢eron po tayong namamataan na kumpol na kaulapan dito po sa may silangang bahagi ng Visayas at Mindanao, dulot po yan ng epekto ng easterlies,鈥� she added.
(We are monitoring cloud clusters over the eastern part of Visayas and Mindanao, caused by the easterlies.)
She likewise noted that Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
鈥淢agiging maaliwalas po 鈥榶ung panahon ngayong araw pero may mga posibilidad pa rin ng mga panandalian o mga biglaang buhos ng ulan dulot po ng mga localized or mga isolated na thunderstorms,鈥� Torres said.
(The weather will be generally fair today, but brief and sudden downpours due to localized or isolated thunderstorms remain possible.)

Pagasa is not monitoring any low-pressure area (LPA) or weather disturbance inside or outside the Philippine area of responsibility, according to Torres.
鈥淔or now po, for the next two to three days, wala naman po tayong namamataan na LPA o bagyo na posible pong makaapekto sa mga bahagi ng ating bansa,鈥� she stated.
(For now, in the next two to three days, we are not monitoring any LPA or tropical cyclones that could affect parts of the country.)
The state weather bureau also provided the following temperature ranges for major cities on Monday:
- Metro Manila: 24 to 33 degrees Celsius
- Baguio City: 17 to 26 degrees Celsius
- Laoag City: 23 to 32 degrees Celsius
- Tuguegarao: 24 to 33 degrees Celsius
- Legazpi City: 25 to 31 degrees Celsius
- Tagaytay City: 21 to 30 degrees Celsius
- Puerto Princesa City: 26 to 32 degrees Celsius
- Kalayaan Islands: 26 to 32 degrees Celsius
- Cebu: 26 to 31 degrees Celsius
- Iloilo City: 25 to 32 degrees Celsius
- Tacloban City: 25 to 30 degrees Celsius
- Cagayan De Oro City: 24 to 31 degrees Celsius
- Zamboanga City: 24 to 33 degrees Celsius
- Davao City: 24 to 32 degrees Celsius
Pagasa did not raise a gale warning for any of the country鈥檚 major seaboards on Monday.
鈥淢alaya pong makakapalaot ang mga kababayan natin na may mga maliit na sasakyang pandagat,鈥� Torres said.
