MANILA, Philippines 鈥斅燗kbayan party list Rep. Percival Cenda帽a said he wanted March which is National Women鈥檚 Month of March to be designated as 鈥淏awal Bastos (Safe Spaces) Awareness Month鈥� even as he urged the Philippine Women鈥檚 Commission (PWC) to check public and private sector compliance with the law against gender-based sexual harassment (GBSH).
In filing House Resolution No. 2247 on Monday, Cenda帽a cited a provision of Republic Act No. 11313, or the Safe Spaces Act, which tasks the PWC to conduct a national awareness campaign on GBSH with other government agencies and local governments.

鈥淚t鈥檚 already 2025. Sexual harassment of women and other gender identities should no longer be a thing. Crassness is prohibited on the streets, in the workplace, on social media and in government most of all. Everybody should be safe anywhere they go. No excuses,鈥� he said. 鈥�Jeannette I. Andrade
