The groundbreaking ceremony was graced by the City Government of Calbayog, led by Mayor Raymund Uy, and key leaders of MWPV, with Regional Operations Group Director for Visayas and Mindanao Roberto V. Vasquez, Jr. and Calbayog Water Operations Manager Fernan Barry Bohol.

This initiative highlights the organization鈥檚 unwavering commitment to protecting public health and preserving the environment and underscores the strong collaboration between the public and private sectors in addressing the region鈥檚 growing sanitation challenges.

Designed with an initial capacity of 10 cubic meters per day (cu.m.) and the potential for expansion to 20 cu.m. per day, the facility is projected to accommodate up to 15,000 households within a five-year cycle, operating 240 days per year.

Calbayog Water鈥檚 SpTP will feature a compact packaged sewage treatment system that uses a cutting-edge membrane bioreactor (MBR) technology in a user-friendly packaged system.

The SpTp is the first septage treatment plant in Calbayog City that will cater to the sanitation needs of domestic customers and will play a crucial role in reducing waterborne diseases, preventing groundwater contamination, and promoting a healthier environment for residents.

鈥淎ccess to clean water and proper sanitation is fundamental to public health and environmental sustainability. The construction of this Septage Treatment Plant represents a major milestone in our mission to ensure safe and effective wastewater management,鈥 says Bohol.
