Former PSC chief to be given new post - PCOMANILA, Philippines — Maj. Gen. Jesus Nelson Morales was removed as Presidential Security Command Commander (PSC) chief because he will be assigned to another post, according to Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary Claire Castro.

At a Palace briefing on Wednesday, Castro was asked why Morales was terminated as head of the PSC on Tuesday.

“Na-terminate po iyong kaniyang command dahil po ililipat po siya ng ibang duty—iyon lamang po ang maaari nating sabihin patungkol po diyan sa PSC,” she responded.

Castro also has no information whether the development had anything to do with Chinese and Filipino nationals allegedly spying at the Malacañang complex and other government facilities in Metro Manila.

She further said the change in leadership did not violate a rule banning the appointment or hiring of personnel during the election period.

“Hindi naman po nag-violate ng anumang polisiya or order or batas. So, naaayon pa rin po iyan,” she said.

(No policy or order was violated.)

Morales will be replaced as PSC commander by Brig. Gen. Peter Burgonio.
