PDEA nabs Batangas village councilor on drug raps
LUCENA CITY — A village councilor and his associate were arrested early Tuesday by Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) agents and police in a buy-bust operation in Bauan, Batangas.
PDEA–Region 4A agents and local cops held “Ronald,” 51, a village councilor in Barangay As-Is, and “Joseph,” 45, after they sold a pack of shabu to a poseur buyer at 2:55 a.m. in the village, the regional agency reported.
The suspects were caught in possession of three plastic sachets containing shabu weighing 10 grams worth P68,000 and assorted drug paraphernalia.
The PDEA is conducting further investigation to determine the source of the illegal drugs.
The suspects were detained and will face a formal complaint for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
