MANILA, Philippines 鈥� President Marcos has ordered government agencies to properly implement the updated master plan for the Bicol River Basin to ease flooding like that which submerged large parts of the Bicol Region in late 2024.
The President gave the directive in a meeting with members of the Regional Development Council in Pili, Camarines Sur, on Friday.

鈥淭here is no other way to address the flooding problem except to manage the water flowing into the Bicol Region River Basin. At least we have a plan now. We have to implement it properly because the old master plan was not rigorously implemented, so we have the same problem,鈥� the President said.
Marcos said the updated master plan should be made available to all stakeholders, especially local government units and government agencies, so that they can understand how it is supposed to work. 鈥擩ulie M. Aurelio
