Rainfall triggers landslide, rockfall in Camarines Sur town

NAGA CITY — Two consecutive incidents of falling mass debris have occurred in Barangay Patitinan, Sagñay town, Camarines Sur, since Sunday, authorities said.

The Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (LDRRMO) of Sagñay reported a landslide at Sitio Garang at 6:49 p.m. on Sunday, followed by a rockfall at Sitio Rawis on Monday, as confirmed by Early Warning Officer Noli Pielago.

The incidents were believed to be the results of the recent heavy rainfall in the province.

Local authorities advised the public that only one lane was passable in both Sitio Garang and Sitio Rawis as of this time.
