MANILA, Philippines — Portion of Commonwealth Ave. in Quezon City will be closed over the weekend to make way for Metro Rail Transit Line-7 (MRT-7) construction, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) said on Monday.

Eastbound lanes of Commonwealth Ave. between University Ave. and Tandang Sora Ave. will be temporarily closed starting March 15 on Saturday, 10 p.m. until March 16 on Sunday, 4:00 a.m.

DOTr said this road closure is due to the construction of a footbridge that will connect the Tandang Sora Station of MRT-7.

Motorists are urged to ply alternate routes.
