Heat index is defined as the 聽apparent temperature felt by the human body when factoring in humidity.
The heat index is forecast to soar to dangerous levels in Dagupan City, Pangasinan (45掳C); Virac, Catanduanes (42掳C) and Cotabato City, Maguindanao (42掳C), the weather agency said in its forecast on Wednesday evening.
At the 鈥渄anger鈥� level between 42 and 51掳C, heat cramps and heat exhaustion are likely, with heat stroke probable with continued exposure.
Sixty three monitoring stations across the country were forecast to experience a heat indexe at the 鈥渆xtreme caution鈥� level of between 33掳颁. and 41掳颁, including the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Pasay City (40掳颁) and the Science Garden in Quezon City (38掳颁).
