Fire in Malabon City on Thursday kills three persons

Fire hits two areas in Malabon

MANILA, Philippines — Three people died, and three others were injured after a fire hit a residential area in Barangay Longos, Malabon City early Thursday, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) reported.

The blaze broke out at 3:45 a.m. and the situation was raised to the first alarm at 3:52 a.m.

It was put under control at 4:50 a.m.

Firemen eventually declared a “fire out” at 6:52 a.m., three hours after the incident began.

The BFP confirmed three fatalities from the fire.

Their names are still unknown.

Meanwhile, three others sustained injuries.

They were identified as Gerald Flores, 24; Adrian Frias, 10; and Rafael Frias, 44.

According to the BFP, Flores suffered a first-degree burn on his right thigh and a blister on his right forearm.

It added that Rafael sustained a puncture wound on his left foot, while Adrian suffered a burn on his right index finger.

One person is missing as search operations continue, the BFP also noted.

Authorities have yet to determine the cause of the blaze and the estimated damage.
