Party list group eyes raps vs Meta for censorship
MANILA, Philippines — ACT Teachers Rep. France Castro is considering suing Meta for censoring the party list group’s Facebook pages.
Castro, who is running for senator, pointed out that her first official Facebook page was unpublished on Feb. 16, while a second page was unpublished on March 15.
Even the access of page administrators to their personal Facebook accounts was restricted.
Meta is the parent company of Facebook as well as the social networking platform Instagram and messaging apps WhatsApp and Messenger.

“This is a clear case of digital harassment and censorship. Meta is systematically silencing progressive voices that speak truth to power,” Castro said.
She added that she has appealed the matter with Meta to no avail. “We demand that Meta immediately restore our pages and the accounts of our administrators,” she said. —Jeannette I. Andrade
