MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 4.7 earthquake struck the waters off Sarangani Island in Davao Occidental on Tuesday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.
Phivolcs said in its bulletin that the earthquake occurred at 7:04 a.m.
It was located some 80 kilometers (km.) southeast of Sarangani Island.
It added that the tremor was tectonic in origin, with a depth of focus of 125 km.

No intensities were recorded from the event.
No damage and aftershocks are also expected from the earthquake.
