MANILA, Philippines 鈥� Puerto Princesa City in Palawan is forecast to experience the highest heat index at 42 degrees Celsius (掳C) on Thursday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
According to the state weather bureau, a聽heat聽index聽of 42掳C to 51掳C is categorized under the 鈥渄anger鈥� category, which would likely cause聽heat聽cramps and聽heat聽exhaustion.
Heat聽stroke is also possible with prolonged聽heat聽or sun exposure, it added.
Puerto Princesa has recorded a 42掳C heat index for two consecutive days this week, based on the state weather bureau鈥檚 latest computed heat index bulletin.
The 42掳C heat index was registered on Tuesday, March 18, and Wednesday, March 19.

Meanwhile, Pagasa noted that 54 other areas may experience a heat index of 33掳颁 to 41掳颁 on Wednesday, classified under the 鈥渆xtreme caution鈥� category.
