MANILA, Philippines — The highest heat index on Friday is forecast at 41°C in two areas, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
Pagasa in its 5 p.m. Thursday bulletin said Zamboanga City in Zamboanga del Sur and Cotabato City in Maguindanao will experience the “extreme caution” heat index.
Under this category (33° to 41°), heat cramps and heat exhaustion are possible while continued exposure to the sun can lead to heat stroke.
