Man dies in Quezon shooting over ‘love triangle’

LUCENA CITY — A 20-year-old man was killed in a shooting allegedly triggered by a “love triangle” in Lucena City in Quezon province on Friday night, March 21.

The Quezon police reported Saturday, March 22, that “Carlos” was preparing a burger sandwich in Barangay (village) Market View at around 7:20 p.m. when the incident occurred.

Suspect “Mae” reportedly appeared and shot him twice using a handgun.

The assailant fled after the shooting aboard a motorcycle driven by her cohort and left her target dead on the spot.

The police said there could be a “love triangle” involving the victim and the suspect but did not provide details.

Citing information from the victim’s aunt, Carlos and Mae had a heated argument about their past romantic relationship.

After the verbal fight, Mae allegedly left Carlos with a death threat.

The police are conducting further investigation and launched a manhunt operation to arrest Mae.
