MANILA, Philippines — Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon on Thursday advised told motorists and commuters to prepare for and be patient with the planned rehabilitation of the Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue (Edsa).
“Ang kailangan nating malaman at maintindihan lalo na ng ating mga motorista at komyuter is malalaki at mahaba-habang pagtitiis ang kailangan nating gawin,” Dizon said.
(What our motorists and commuters need to know and understand is we will need to endure this for a long time.)
“Kaya yun ang hinihingi namin sa ating mga kababayan na kailangan natin magtiis, kailangan natin ng pasensya,” added Dizon
(That’s what we ask from the public, we need to endure, we need patience.)
“Pero naniniwala ang ating mahal na Pangulo, kaming lahat, na kapag natapos ito, napalaking ginhawa ang maibibigay nito sa mga kababayan nating araw-araw dumadaan sa Edsa,” Dizon pointed out.
(But, our beloved president, as well as every one of us here, believe that once this is finished, this will give a major relief to our countrymen who use Edsa every day.)
“’Armageddon’ ito ng equipment. Marami tayong tao (This will be an Armageddon of equipment. We have a lot of personnel),” Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Undersecretary Roberto Bernardo said at a press conference with Dizon on Thursday.
