Suspected robbers die following fight with mob in Quezon – police

Suspected robbers die during an alleged armed encounter with citizens in San Antonio town in Quezon province on Friday, August 30, 2024, according to police.

LUCENA CITY — Four policemen were wounded in a shootout with three wanted felons in Guinayangan town in Quezon province on Friday, March 28.

Police forces armed with a warrant of arrest swooped down on the alleged safe house of suspects “Ren,” “Ronnel” and “Mando” in Barangay (village) Manggagawa around 6:45 a.m.

The suspects sensed the approaching law enforcers and fired at them.

The assailants hit Chief Master Sergeant Crisologo Castillo, Executive Master Sergeant Alex Maigue; Staff Sergeant John James Red; and Chief Master Sergeant Domingo Enraca Jr. from Police Region 5.

Castillo and Maigue are both from Guinayangan police station while Red is assigned at Police Region 4A.

The three suspects managed to escape after the shooting and are now the subject of a police manhunt.

The wounded cops were taken to the hospital and are now in stable condition.

According to the report, the three suspects are wanted for murder lodged in Ligao City, Albay court.
