Vice President Sara Duterte thanked President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for allowing her and her father, former President Rodrigo Duterte, to mend their relationship.
The former president is detained after the International Criminal Court (ICC) ordered his arrest for his crimes against humanity arising out of his drug war.
Palace: Cabinet officials shared enough info on Duterte arrest
Cabinet officials have provided sufficient information on the arrest of former president Rodrigo Duterte during a previous Senate hearing, the Palace maintained on Wednesday.
This statement came in response to Sen. Imee Marcos’ objection to the absence of officials at the upcoming hearing of the Senate foreign relations committee, which she chairs, on the same issue, scheduled for Thursday.

China on Wednesday warned the Philippines against threatening “regional peace” after the United States said it had to Manila.
“The Philippines’ defense and security cooperation with other countries should not target any third party or harm the interests of a third party. Nor should it threaten regional peace and security or exacerbate regional tensions,” foreign ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said.
Everyone is welcome in the Philippines except criminals, the Palace said on Wednesday in response to the Chinese embassy’s travel advisory for its citizens visiting the country.
Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary Claire Castro said in a briefing that the embassy’s advisory was simply a “normal consular function of China.”
