Pope Francis names new Pagadian Diocese bishop

PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur – has named Fr. Ronald Anthony Timoner as the the new bishop of the Diocese of Pagadian, according to Archbishop Martin Jumoad, the apostolic administrator of the Diocese of Pagadian.
Timoner, 53, will assume the post vacated by then Bishop Ronald Lunas who succumbed to a heart attack on January 2 last year, said Jumoad, the Ozamiz City bishop assigned as the apostolic administrator of the Pagadian following Lunas’ demise.
Timoner was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Daet on May 1, 1997. He is from Daet, Camarines Norte.
The bishop said Timoner wanted to be ordained and consecrated as a bishop at the Sto. Niño Cathedral in Pagadian City and be installed there afterwards.
But the date is yet to be scheduled during their meeting in Manila, according to Jumuad.
Timoner will be serving 30 parishes under the Diocese.
