Areas in five provinces are expected to experience power interruptions on Sunday, April 6, due to maintenance activities.

MANILA, Philippines — Areas in five provinces are expected to experience power interruptions on Sunday, April 6, due to maintenance activities.

This is according to multiple advisories by the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) posted on its official social media on Thursday.

The affected provinces are the following:

FEATURED STORIES

Albay

  • On April 6, from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. and from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Affecting ALECO
  • Due to the load shifting of ALINDECO and ALECO from the Tiwi C Substation to the Daraga Substation

Antique

  • On April 6, from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m.
  • Affecting ANTECO (Culasi and Bugasong Substations), VHPP SUWECO
  • Due to load transfer and normalization of ANTECO’s Culasi and Bugasong substations from NGCP’s San Jose to Nabas substations after completion of preventive maintenance work along the Nabas-Culasi 69kV line segment

Quezon Province

  • On April 6, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Affecting QUEZELCO 1
  • Due to general maintenance and corrective measures along the Pitogo-Mulanay 69 kV line

South Cotabato

  • On April 6, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.
  • Affecting SOCOTECO II (Polomolok, Tupi, and Dole Philippines Substations)
  • Due to the disconnection of the loop jumper conductors of a pole that connects the Gensan-Poblacion Tupi kV line to its alternate feeder at the NGCP Gensan Substation

Southern Leyte

  • On April 6, from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Himay-angan Substation); from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. (Maasin, Sogod and St. Bernard Substations); from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. (Sogod and St. Bernard Substations)
  • Affecting SOLECO
  • Due to SOLECO’s request to isolate the Himay-angan substation for relay testing and resetting of 69kV protection and hotspot correction of the PCB at the Nasaug substation

“Specific areas are determined by the electric cooperative. NGCP will exert all efforts to restore power earlier or as scheduled,” the corporation said in its advisories.
