MANILA, Philippines—The Department of Education (DepEd) said on Friday it is conducting a thorough investigation into the alleged case of bullying at Bagong Silangan High School in Quezon City.
This was after a viral video from the school showed three female students taking turns pulling a student’s hair.
“We have instructed the school to expedite the investigation and provide the necessary support to the involved learners,” DepEd media relations chief Dennis Legaspi said.
Legazpi also said a meeting with the high school’s child protection committee had been scheduled to conduct a thorough investigation and to hear both sides.
“We are committed to ensuring that the bullying victim and all affected learners receive the support they need and their safety and well-being are prioritized throughout the investigation process,” Legazpi said in a statement.
